Millions of people from all over the world know Llangollen as the July home of the International Musical Eisteddfod. Yet for every month of the year, here is a course always in superb condition, always welcoming and always where the scenery will better even your very best game of golf.
Nestling in a vale on the banks of the river Dee and overlooked by the Welsh fortress of Dinas Bran the green green fairways so wide and long seem to favour the long hitter but members know well how much more important it is to be accurate and avoid the hundreds of trees. Several holes follow the river which can mean OB for the wayward. With a SSS of 72 for the men and 74 for the ladies, Llangollen is a long course but, apart from a short climb after the 9th and 18th, it’s very easy walking.
